Just Trudeau remained speechless for 22 seconds when asked about Donald Trump's handling of George Floyd protests in the US

The Canadian prime minister, Justin Trudeau, was silent for 22 seconds in reaction to a question on Donald Trump's handling of protests across the US over the killing of George Floyd by a white police officer.

cant see BorisJohnson being so imsightful or honest sackcummmings as he is corrupt

A shame that after 21 seconds, that is all he could have come up with. The question can hardly have come as a surprise to him.

chenchenzh Dumbfounded by an obvious but inconvenient truth. How do you denounce an abusive master when you are a client state?

Canada has a lot to say and a fat finger to point when it comes to Hong Kong and China, but has only silence to offer when it comes to the US. It’s pathetic.

Cat got his tongue?

Trudeau can piss off

And yet he dodges the question. Et tu Trudeau?

What a president!

D_Melissa2 How would Morrison respond to the same question?

Uhhhh

Wasting 22 seconds of everyone's life like an arrogant entitled boss. It could only have been better if he did it in black face.

There was no way on earth he didn't know this question was coming. He has a communication team. Please don't spread the histrionics of his response as some sort of precious moment of deep, internal turmoil. Shallow posturing is his bread and butter for all issues.

Can someone please ask him about his opinion towards secretary Xi jinping?

Guess media wanted him to froth at the mouth, rant and rave about how 'peaceful' the protests are.

You have to choose your words very carefully when asked about the crazy neighbours with the massive gun collection.

I would imagine his ear piece cut off and he couldnt hear the person telling him what to say.

Sad he did not have the balls to condemn

Clearly then Trump is unspeakable.

Where are all the Istandwithtrudeau bots now? But maybe we should give him a break, it takes at least 20seconds for the signal to make it to China and back for Xi Jinping to feed our Manchurian candidate PM his lines. Trudeau Silence Trump Canada canpoli polcan

Guess he was remembering that time he wore “black face” ...

This is admirable of Trudeau. Although my first thought is that his long pause has to do with caution, since the neighbour to the south has an authoritarian rabid animal for a president who can cause economic damage to Canada.

Honestly, why tf does it take him so long to condemn obvious wrong behavior from the trump!! In general why all leaders of the world so silent rn I remember the protests in Hong Kong and how fast Europe and North America spoke out about the handling of the ppl protesting

Anyone else read this pause as ‘What on earth can I say that won’t bring the wrath of T down on us but doesn’t make me complicit in his war on his own people’?

Silence speaks volumes

Nice! Silence speaks volumes! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦👍

He looks more & more to Puss in Boots .

What our brilliant PM JustinTrudeau doesn’t say in his 21 seconds of pure silence is simple. Racism, in all forms, and on any every level is unspeakably wrong. It is something realDonaldTrump should learn, but never will.

This guy ain’t ageing well.

He thought carefully but then said the right thing. 👍

Impressed. He was not suckered into the narrative that the reporter wanted. He addressed an issue, that is not only happening in my country but Canada too, And there are other countries as well.

It took 22 seconds for all of his handlers to argue into his earpiece to tell him what to say. They're TERRIFIED that it'll spread north of the border more than it already has. Montreal got smashed the fuck up last night. Just sayin.

We’ve all done it.

Maybe his autocue got stuck 😉😉 What we need from Trump is total silence. He speaks nothing but narcissistic junk

Had to wait to hear what his in-ear bud relayed. There was no deep contemplation here; the man studied acting/drama/singing/music/art in university. He's running a trillion-dollar economy/country on a grade 12 education. His COMMS advisor needed the 22 seconds--not Trudeau.

Refreshing to see a politician taking their time before answering a sensitive question, whilst avoiding potential controversy and opting to relay to points which everyone can mutually agree on. That’s definitely the kind of rhetoric the world needs right now.

officialbarnesy ‘Listen’ is the keyword , I think a lot of white people believe they understand racism but they don’t. I don’t fully, I don’t pretend to but I’m listening, especially to you as you speak such balanced truth. Thankyou

Should have gone for nine minutes.

Not this then, hypocrite

Justin’s got even more hotter over the years i swear

22 seconds is a long time to bite your tongue. It must be sore.

Silence is a vociferating language, adopted by wise men; silence span is echoing time in diplomatic language. No words are also biting words for intellectuals

Clearly a man who thinks before he speaks... it's refreshing to see that in a leader.

and the UK voted for Boris ! FFS.

He should have blacked up again.

22-second mind-meld with JoeBiden
