📺 Meet the Redstones, an American media dynasty with a backstory so dramatic that elements of it make Succession look like a plodding documentary

As HBO drama Succession returns to our screens this week, viewers will once again – no doubt – link the dysfunctional Roy family with the Murdoch clan. Both are ultra-wealthy media dynasties headed by ageing and combative patriarchs: in Succession’s case Logan Roy, played by actor Brian Cox, and in the Murdochs’ case Rupert, owner of News Corp. Both families contain offspring who appear to be jostling to succeed their fathers in light of their advancing years.
