Can't think of any reason cabinet ministers would want to do that unless they had a vested interest in them? The Conservative Party do everything above board so I'm sure it's not that...

Windfall taxes are populist short term crowd pleasers that end up doing more harm than good in the long run. So I fully expect Boris Johnson to announce one in the immediate future.
