In Tiverton and Honiton, where former MP Neil Parish quit after he was found watching pornography in the House of Commons, the Lib Dems took 22,537 votes, beating the Conservatives by 6,144.In his victory speech, Lib Dem candidate Simon Foord said: "Tonight, the people of Tiverton and Honiton have spoken for Britain. And in Wakefield, where a Labour victory had been largely expected, the party won by 4,925 votes.
In his victory speech, Labour candidate Simon Lightwood also attacked the prime minister, saying: "Tonight, the people of Wakefield have spoken on behalf of the British people. "They have said unreservedly, 'Boris Johnson, your contempt for this country is no longer tolerated. Your government has no ideas, no plan to address the big issues facing our country.'"
Wakefield's previous MP, Imran Ahmad, resigned after being convicted of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old boy. Mr Johnson, who is attending a Commonwealth leaders' summit in Rwanda, suggested before the results that it would be "crazy" for him to quit if the Conservatives lost the two seats, saying mid-term by-elections were "never necessarily easy for any government".
Well perhaps Sunak, Braverman, Johnson and the others will realize that there's something wrong
Cannot believe that the BBC is allowing disgraced former MP Neil Parish to do a long interview on the Conservatives massive defeat in Tiverton and Honiton. How low this country has sunk.
Disaster for LibDems and UKLabour - Lib Dem’s actually lost their deposit in Wakefield (1.8%😂) as did Labour at Tiverton (3.7%) on a low turnout! And the are painting this as a bad result for the PM?
And where is Boris again when there is turmoil in the country and the Tory party? Abroad as usual
It's normal
It really isn't but another negative headline for you 🙄
TBF think parliament as a whole think more of their electorate in Afghanistan than the UK.
This was never going to be a surprise, the sad thing is the opposition always read the end for the tories, history have seen one party in and the councils being run by the competition, yes. We are all frustrated, Boris won’t be ousted though, nobody strong enough to stand in.
Tactical voting by Labour and LibDem supporters in a low turnout vote hardly makes it a problem. Imagine being one of those people so unprincipled as to vote for a party they don’t support …
How many more seats will BorisJohnson / Conservatives need to lose or how many more resignations and deflections to opposition parties will it take for the current “leadership” to accept Boris is the squatter at 10DowningStreet and will cost them all a lot at the next election
Waking up to the smell of Tory losses like:
Fantastic outcome for the country and no surprise given Bojo’s and the Cabinets utter contempt for the British public. BorisJohnsonOut byelection2022 ToriesUnfitToGovern BorisJohnsonMustResign byelections

Hahahahahahahahahababahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
With Johnson as leader the Conservatives are going to be completely evicerated at the next election. The party will be finished.
Wonderful waking up to the news for once!

JaneyGodley Cue a new By Election Bill…
So, where will Johnson be today then. Back off to Ukraine? At the back of a walk-in fridge or making another distraction baby?
JaneyGodley lol
Fantastic news.
What will take for the Conservative MPs to wake up and do the descent thing
People walk into a supermarket & see the shelves half full, the farmers can only produce 1/2 their usual crop because they’ve got no staff to help them. Meanwhile these jokers are sending people who want to come here to work to bloody Rwanda. Just 1 example of why this happened.
Its more of a concern to both the country and Parliament that there are poor turnouts. I blame Brexit, so many voted in this in a great show of democracy only for their votes to be ignored for years. That would have made many think their vote doesn't count. reformparliament
Boris...
