And of course, in the first episode of the show, Gi-hun tried to guess his mum's pin number by trying his birthday, entering 0426 - or April 26.The players and workers are chosen in the same way A theory about how the red-suited workers came to be involved in Squid Game has also been circulating.At the beginning of the show, Gi-hun is asked to choose between a red or a blue card before playing the game. Some have speculated that if he had picked red, he would have become a worker, while picking blue meant he became a player in the gruesome game.
