If you’re among Britain’s 600,000 vegans – or the estimated 400,000 more who signed up for Veganuary this year – the chances are you stopped eating animal products for the sake of the environment and your health. But is it possible the world’s fastest growing consumer trend could actually damage, not improve, your health?
We have a Vegan in the family, he looks ill, often feels ill, gets more exercise injuries than he should but thinks it is doing something good. I just hope he wakes up before he dies too young.
I thought its been proven without a shadow of doubt by INDEPENDENT studies that a plant based diet is good for you & better for the environment. The China Study showed this. But hey we all hate facts dont we? its all fear mongering when it comes to showing you a mirror. Ah well!
Yes. In a word
Reading the Telegraph is bad for one's health.
Boring old news. How about a piece of red meat giving the dumb folk a heart attack or let’s see some cholesterol in the arteries pumping through by the average junk food eater or meat eater.
No surprise there. That’s common sense.
Why are you pushing this silly little phase that the intelligentsia are going through, 650,000 vegetarians in the UK, do they really deserve so much media time
It’s not necessarily good for the environment either
Or on the contrary, not that great for the environment either. It's not a black and white subject. Complexity a bit much for 2020's Telegraph, used to trading in simple answers to difficult questions. r4today
🧀
And not good for the environment.
You're not making sense. Going plant based is not better for the environment. So if it's also not better for our health, where is the paradox?
Veganism is primarily about animal welfare. Factory farms are an abomination and slaughtering practises barbaric in some places. Hunter gatherers did not have factory farms. Veganism isn't a natural diet however, as important nutrients are missing.
No paradox. It won’t be the vegans dying of the top killers like heart disease, strokes, diabetes, certain cancers. Check the actual evidence and the links to eating meat. A well planned vegan diet is best for health, environment and the animals also prefer it govegan
Scientists, doctors and nutritionists need sick people. And about vegetables drinks, we can vary between oak, rice, soya, almond, cocoanut.... Not just one kind of vegetable drink....
veganism does not mean eating fake/mock meat or plant based milk. There are literally thousands of other food products which can be consumed by humans and are delicious, nutritious and affordable.
Not sponsored by NFUtweets at all!
Again with the vegans, it's not damaging our health because your key audience aren't vegans.
I know - eat meat, eat fish
You are talking about 'Meat Alternates : Fake Meat'. Fake anything, it is unhealthy. But Vegan has thousand other good things more healthy and nutritious talk about them, why fake something to promote meat industry.
Depends on the ingredients, so DIY with Mimi‘s Good4you recipes - Vegan plantbased healthy
Yes.
It’s not good for the environment either.
We were hunter gatherers not weed pickers 🤭🤭👍🏻👍🏻
Any excuse to keep destroying the environment with factory farms.
If you need to take additional supplements to not fall apart, then it is not a sound diet.
