The new supermarket rules parents NEED to know

Sainsbury's is now accepting new customer registrations online for home delivery and Click and Collect slots. They are also now accepting new Delivery Pass registrations too. NHS and care workers will still have priority entry to stores from 7:30am to 8am Monday to Saturday and elderly, vulnerable and disabled customers will still have priority entry from 8am to 9am Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

All stores will be prioritising access for elderly and vulnerable customers between 9am and 10am every Wednesday and Sunday , while NHS workers can get priority access at any time when they show their ID. NHS workers can visit any Morrisons store from 6am to 7am, Monday to Saturday, and 9am to 9:30am on Sundays.The supermarket also offers a ‘speedy shopper’ queue for customers who only need to do a small shop There will also be a more card-only checkouts to speed up shopping.

The number of people in store are being limited when necessary. Aldi uses an 'automated traffic light' system to indicate when customers are able to enter the store.There are markers on the floor to help everyone maintain a safe distance and paying by contactless methods is encouraged. Aldi is also advising people to shop alone if possible.The store's opening times are as usual, although there are some variations between stores, so it is best to check online before you go.

Lidl continues to monitor the amount of people in its stores at any one time, so the number of shoppers may be restricted. There are floor markings to encourage social distancing, and the chain is also advising people to pay by contactless if they can.Some stores have slightly different opening hours to usual, check online or call your local store for confirmation.
