This is a hard-hitting insoghtful article which goes to the heart of the problem. It appears the 'ruling classes' have never understood or accepted, that there is no longer an inexhaustible supply of uneducated desperate 'workers' available,and atempts to turn back time are futil

Yes but the danger is that Brexiters use this as an argument to get themselves off the hook. Brexit is in many ways the logical continuation of the way the country has been heading decades, the lurch toward extremism that shows the course was wrong all along.
