In a fiercely competitive market, the last thing the supermarket chain needs is lettuces left to wilt at a hard border with the EU

When Tesco reports first-half results on Wednesday there will be less than a month to go until the Brexit deadline on 31 October. The law says the government must seek an extension if no deal is agreed by 19 October but Boris Johnson and his allies are trying to find ways around this.

If Tesco stopped ripping its customers off I'm sure many would return. Buy Lidl, twice as much for half the price of Tesco

Why have y'all kept quiet, for so long? 🤷🏾‍♂️

Just the way thepeople like it...rotten lettuces...

.....businesses adapt, or go under, everyday of the week....if three years isn’t long enough to make the changes then what is?....unless they just haven’t been listening!

Remain media are spreading lies about food imports and shortages under WTO rules. Imports will be the same or even cheaper. Our meat and dairy exports to the EU will take a hit until a trade deal is worked out but subsidised by the £13+ billion we won't be paying to the EU.

shame.

Why would EU exporters create a situation where they could not sell their produce? They won't. Besides lots of our veg is British grown. Many foods will be cheaper when we leave if we have zero tariffs on say oranges fr S Africa (Outspan)

Personally I wouldn't mind if they pulled out of RoI By far the most expensive supermarket, their prices went up - again - just last week.

Things I grow/produce in my own garden: Tomatoes Potatoes Onions Carrots Eggs (from 4 molly-coddled pet hens) Apples Peas Cannabis (excellent quality) More people should grow their own stuff. It's great fun and saves money.

Rubbish!!!

Still peddling project fear? How long until you finally go bankrupt now? Will you do a Jamie Oliver and try and blame it on Brexit?

Rubbish. These institutional companies have made billions from us over the years ask Thomas Cook.why should we hear them bleat.where have your profits gone.they tell us each yr how much dosh they have made.just try and save some for a rainy day

Tesco is just really expansive .. especially the metro and express branches. Also their product are not that good .. sainsbury, lidl, morrison are much better.

Don’t care only shop at Waitrose anyway

All managers on more than prime minister, well his salary

“The only thing we have to fear is fear itself!”

Buy British.

Drop your prices then Stop ripping off farmers

have they got a passport

Juncker has cheek to claim EU doing everything possible – blames Boris for no deal BrexitJEAN-CLAUDE JUNKER has said the EU is “doing everything possible” to secure a Brexit deal and has warned that if the UK leaves without a deal, Britain will be entirely to blame. Why would the EU want a real deal when we're handing them over a billion a month, I worry sometimes, how dumb are the fascist left Leave without a deal because the union bosses think they are unbeatable.. but Nationalist Brussels want Britain's money 😂... Hopefully the next Country who will leave is Italy or Poland? Because who needs the union because not all of Europe is in the Union to trade with? The deal Boris wants is to have all the benefits of being in the EU without being in it . That “ cake and eat it Deal” is the one I wanted to , but other than that he doesn’t want a deal
