Stormont civil servants are continuing to use ministerial cars in the absence of the Northern Ireland Executive.
But civil servants said the arrangement "allows senior officials to undertake work during their journey, saves time and reduces parking costs". The Department of Education recorded 116 trips including journeys transporting officials between Bangor and Dublin, Bangor and Omagh, and Belfast and Enniskillen.
