More than one in five secondary school pupils in England were out of school last week because of coronavirus Many students are worried about next year's exams

were out of school last week because of coronavirus. The latest figures show just 78% of teenagers were in the classroom, the lowest level since September. Students from one of the worst affected areas this term, Knowsley on Merseyside, told the BBC they're worried about their exams with all the missed lessons.

The government says it will support students affected by the pandemic. It's consulting on back-up plans for exams in England. It will also have provided 500,000 laptops for disadvantaged pupils by the end of the year. Content in a few subjects like English Literature is being reduced and grades might also be awarded more generously than usual.

Cancel exams, please sign this petition Write to MP’s and councillors Education committee Children’s commissioner DfE Sample letter

GavinWilliamson BorisJohnson RishiSunak really you think forcing English students to take exams next year in opposition to Wales and Scotland is defensible? let alone the right thing to do, give me a break ... do the right thing, cancel the exams and rethink your school plan

My college is closed atm and both year 12&13 are isolating and Don’t go back until the end of next week. It’s unfair

Why worry, your exams have little if any worth in the real world, get a part time job and stick with it and stay off your phone for extended periods of time and you will be fine.

Again, a ridiculous system. Few if any, of these school kids would be ill. The vast majority of these will be asymptomatic kids told to isolate because of possible infected contacts!

Most of them isolating for no reason, while having no Covid.

More than 1 in 5; 1 in 4 why; don't you know the figure; guesstimate. Seems that they 'want' to be off school rather than be educated. Cue violin; tiers (sorry tears) what would they do if we had a real crisis? They haven't done the education to consider they can't do it.

Its so disgraceful that they have to be forced to go through exams considering what happened with last years lot. They didnt miss 6 months of teaching 🙄

(1.0) My Sons been out for 10 days (+) & prior to that 14 days due to being ‘exposed’ to a (+) peer at college. I really feel for him & all students. Many have deferred Uni places to 2021,meaning increased competition for fewer places for my sons A Level year. His grades will be..

Then if I was you I will take the time off school to rid yourself of your Scouse accent! 🤔 that will do more for your career than you can imagine!

🙄 Again, the UK just has to be different

sad for people with gcses next year considering they probably wont be cancelled in england

I thought children in the west is all about freedom of mind and do whatever you like?

Very sad.

thanks
