Footage appears to show debt collectors breaking in to the flat of someone who has never been a Scottish Power customer
"She tried to engage with them through the intercom and they chose to ignore that, and then watched for a period of 43 seconds as two guys walked through the door," he said.Mr Maciver said he drove from his home in St Andrews to the property in Glasgow to investigate. He said his daughter had reported the letters three times to Scottish Power but they kept sending written demands for unpaid money.Mr Maciver said he faced a "denial culture" at the energy firm when he tried to complain.
"In view of the upset caused, I offered your daughter £500 as a gesture of goodwill and advised you that we were continuing to investigate which flat we do supply, your daughters' details were removed from our system."It follows the case of Irene Girvan, from Glasgow, who claimed the energy giant hounded her for a year over money she insists she did not owe.
All concerned should be reported to the ICO and prosecuted under GDPR law which results in a fine of 4% of global turnover. Their shareholders will feel that one.
Tell them to shove their compensation and take them the full road ,someone gave them the order to take this action, someone should be held responsible, sorry doesn't always cut it ,🤔🤷♂️
They got their intel from
ScottishPower should offer more than compensation. The employees who authorized the illegal entry should be prosecuted
LOOKS LIKE THE POLICE HAVE BEEN PAID OFF AGAIN, NO ACTION TO BE TAKEN IF ANYBODY BREAKS INTO YOUR HOME, NO MATTER WHAT EVIDENCE YOU HAVE, WE PROTECT RICH COMPANIES NOT PUBLIC SCUM!
That’s because Scottish power are an absolute shambles. Couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery.
Hope they don’t find the right home
Marge! Get my gun!!
Another glorious cock up paid for by the Licence payer.
Debt collectors can’t do this surely? Even bailiffs or county court sheriffs only have the power to break into commercial property. Private homes can be entered by means of an open door or window, that’s it. 🤷🏻
I didn’t think debt collection companies had the right to enter homes unless through an unlocked door or open window. Even high court enforcement agents can’t gain entry without a warrant
