More than a third of survey respondents say the ongoing Alex Salmond inquiry would make them less likely to vote for independence.

Asked which issues were making survey respondents more or less likely to vote for independence, those interviewed said the Salmond inquiry was the biggest driver against voting Yes.Sturgeon's 'pain and regret' over Salmond caseOn the other hand, 16% said it would make them more likely to vote Yes, and 41% said it made no difference. Another 8% said they didn't know.

The next issue most likely to drive voters towards supporting staying in the UK was Brexit, with 26% saying it would make them less likely to vote for independence. The Scottish government's handling of the pandemic and the vaccine rollout were the issues most likely to see survey respondents choose independence.

Some 43% of respondents said they now trust Ms Sturgeon less due to the inquiry, although trust in Mr Salmond has fallen more at 57%. Former SNP leader Mr Salmond was awarded a payout by the Court of Session after it ruled in January 2019 the Scottish government had acted unlawfully in its handling of sexual harassment allegations against him.A separate inquiry is now under way to consider if Ms Sturgeon breached the ministerial code, with the first minister answering questions for eight hours before a Scottish parliament committee.

if your that confident , make it happen , with doris in charge scotland will be independent then it is how to get sturgeon out all she goes on and on about is women instead of sorting homelessness and other top priority things she has done nothing positive

the Gerrard effect

The Salmond factor.

This is more wishful thinking from Tory backing SKY News

Alliance4Unity 14 years of nationalist control is more than enough , dictatorships haven't lasted that long.

Those who think Scottish independence means automatic reintegration to the EU are fools. It takes years if not decades to enter the EU and Scottish economy would not be good enough to be accepted

Time we English had one

A poll not comparable with other polls recently that consistently show a clear opposite, due to no application of voter turnout weighting, yet sky news insist on reporting this BS. indyref ASAP. Get out of cesspool Britain

Ooh that’s got to piss the SNP off 😂😂

The Gerrard effect 🏆 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🇬🇧

'A small survey?' This is fake news. The real news is that the majority of Scots want independence and the even realer news is that ordinary English people could not care less. Which begs the question: Why isn't englishindependence ever discussed by the fake news?

we tried it before anyway.

Sexy

Lived in Scotland for over 30 years now. God knows who takes part in these polls. Everyone I speak to knows we’d be a third world economy if we left union.

3 in a row!

Was it taken outside ibrox yesterday 😴😴😴😴.

Hahaha

ODEAR. This must really hurt Sky editorial leftards and Jimmy Kranky

The question that the English should be asking when Scotland gets it independence where will England get its money from? The financial markets in London are moving to the EU.

22 polls where indy was the winner, nothing, moment it swings back the union bias kicks in.

Now this is unionist propaganda after right wing and media witch hunt failed against Nicola sturgeon. SNP membership up by over 10,000 in 5 days.

Gaslighting

Tories are 🧍‍♀️🧍‍♀️🧍🧍🎻🎻🎻🎻’s

Don't need a poll to tell you that. Scotland would crumble if it left the UK.

Would this be the second ‘Vote’ as like Brexit some people didn’t like the first overwhelming result 🤷‍♂️

Oh.. dunno about that .. gutter media (basically all) desperately trying to hammer Sturgeon .. worried perhaps Will happen when true effects of Brexit are felt

Yup little corrupt Nicola and her band of bitter lunatics have screwed it 🤷🏼‍♂️

Be careful. You reported the same thing about the EU referendum. Not that I’m tarring the Scots with the same stupidity brush as msny of us English.

The headline sounds so disappointed...

The SNP aren't trusted. Simple as that. They're imploding, despite the UK Gov not even arguing the issue atm. I get that some nationalists won't like it, but just looking at this thread tells me a lot. Look at the petulant and vile hate being thrown about by the gobby minority.🤦‍♂️

Yoon and Bots out in force yet again when will they learn the Scottish people have had enough of being treated as second class citizens and being governed by a parliament they never voted for. The Union is dead long live an Independent Scotland

Isn’t tomorrow a bit soon to organise it all though? 🤔

don't 4get all goods commimg south would B subjet 2 a 25 % surcharge 4 a start

Separation is just Nicola's dream. So she could stay in power and grip more of it!

What utter bollox typical of Sky News spouting the fascist Tory hard right BS.

We’re would scotland get there money from if they left they still rely on London financially currently

Not a chance. This nation lost they pride, soul under English boots and only care about money. All that stories about Brave harts is only 4 stupid tourists. 13 years in this country. Poor country have shite nation 🤷‍♂️

Better Together... saving lives !!!

Let them have it and see how they get on then.

Support the Scottish people's independence and join the European Union family to get rid of England.

A total of 1,015 people were surveyed between 4 and 5 March, although the figures have not been weighted for voter turnout. This means the figures are not directly comparable with previous polls on the subject, which have consistently shown the Yes vote having a lead for months.

Scotland is independent now?

Honestly .... 🙈

most deal with weak, corrupt & inept governments majority of our time but it’s ours but then to add more of that in the form of an ind via 🇪🇺bureaucracy is just probably that step too far for a nation that prides ourselves in unionism, leadership & individuality 💭 👀🤔🤷‍♂️😷

Bullshit.

All hail our wise and superior leader with her great wisdom and knowledge. SNP is the greatest dictatorship in Scotland for over 1000 years. Indypendce incuming. yessssssssssssssssssssss 🐍

But they are not voting tomorrow, are they?

The Scottish people aren’t as stupid as widow krankee would like to think

Try asking England, Wales and N I They would soon get rid.

Roll the dice!

SlyNews didn’t comment on any of the past poles that showed a clear majority for Independence, first sign of a slip and straight in there doing Bojo’s bidding. Our press is shocking, don’t get me going on Kuenssberg and Peston 😱😱🤬🤬

Some headline that. We will give you a glass of water on the house ...

This is true. Although many a wee Scotlander may vote for independence, not understanding what they’d actually be voting for, the sane majority wld stick with dependence. StrongerTogether 🇬🇧

Where is the EU Flag?

Keep cancelling sky subscriptions scotland till they learn to behave and stop spreading unionist propaganda another English gutter outlet

Utter rubbish from Sky News Ignore polls

Hmm 23 polls have shown YES ahead nothing on them but one with no ahead sure. Still waiting on the report of Boris Johnson being found guilty of misleading parliament you know the thing you have accused Nicola Sturgeon despite no verdict yet.

kilcoyne88817 That’s utter nonsense 😂 away ye go.

Sp the moment has passed for the SNP

Give. Sky the answer snp

They arent getting another referendum so doesnt matter anyway

2. Fineus LeeLee2076 HamishGray_UK when I was asked to join the McCord Family Association, the family association president was from CIA agent James W. McCord. This is a worldwide issue. I attended many meetings, the Romneys are also deeply involved, as is my ex-husband. bio

haha I doubt it whilst Doris is the pm scotland will vote for independence that goverment can not be trusted

1. Fineus LeeLee2076 HamishGray_UK as my Twitter followers are aware, when married to my ex-husband he became a Russian asset and Mich is an epicenter behind Russian infiltration in the US. My experience is first hand. .

What poll is that ? all the others saying yes to independence at almost 60 % you are at it to try pull the wool over everyone’s eyes

why would you leave the UK lol

Wish Scotland would hurry up & get their independence if thats what they want. Fed up of it constantly being discussed when it’s only relevant to around 3 million out of 67m. 🥱

Don’t talk shite

And remember only one side is constantly campaigning for it from a position of power. In an actual referendum where both sides had the chance to put forward their cases, the result would be even more emphatic to remain in UK. Most of Natcase propaganda from 2014 has been debunked

Well tough. It won't be held tomorrow, not next year or next decade. No point in the SNP. Reject them

Bullshit, more would vote to remain in Europe.

They missed their first chance, wonder what they’ll decide now

RejoinEU

I don't believe this for a second. If there was a referendum held tomorrow Scotland would be out of the UK and vote back in the EU by an overwhelming majority and I don't blame them one bit.

I can’t remember Sky reporting the recent polls that had yes 10% ahead. Isn’t that strange.......

Why was Trump banned?

More than likely a good idea to stay united. Nothing more Russia would like is to see unions divided, because they are easier to take over one by one than a larger power.

Here we go with the propaganda machine

Polls are usually bullshit

Scottish independence: Draft bill for indyref2 publishedThe SNP wants to hold an independence referendum in the first half of the next Scottish Parliament session. 👀💭🤔🤷‍♂️😷 I've already voted, once in a lifetime. If this goes ahead I'l resort to largely peaceful protests. It will be much fairer than other referendums run by the UK government. You either vote 'Yes' - or you get sent to prison on made up charges....🤡

Pro-UK activists spend heavily to head off SNP majority at HolyroodScottish anti-independence campaigners buy up ad spots asking voters to vote tactically to beat SNP horrible Sno will win as there is very little alternatives, and how they know it I'd noticed. My Facebook feed has been more full of those ads than posts from my friends. Some of the advertisers might want to brush up on their geography too - one targeted me in the Highlands, despite its wording being about Cowdenbeath. 🤦‍♂️🤣
