The Record Sport team reflect on a big week in Europe for our clubs and look ahead as the countdown to the first Old Firm derby of the season begins.

A mixed bag for Scottish clubs in Europe this week - how do you assess Rangers, Hibs, Aberdeen and Hearts’ chances of progress? MICHAEL GANNON: Mixed at best. Hibs can forget it. Aberdeen can finish the job and I’ve got a sneaky feeling Rangers will do a number on PSV again. Hearts shouldn’t give up hope but it’s a tall order.

FRASER WILSON: Aberdeen are in the driving seat after their impressive fightback against Hacken. Rangers will score in Eindhoven but can they keep PSV out? I reckon they’ll squeeze through with a monumental performance. But the lights have already gone out for Hibs in a mismatch with Villa and PAOK will be too strong for Hearts in Greece.MICHAEL: It’s shocking but it’s also the truth.

FRASER: A loud and clear message to the board to get the cheque book out in the final week of the window. The defence looks to be in tatters and there’s no doubt Celtic are behind where they were just a few months ago. GORDON: It'll take more than an injury crisis at Celtic to turn the tide in Rangers' favour - they're still well short of closing that gap and there's little evidence that it's going to happen any time soon.
