A group of good Samaritans dressed as Santa Claus subdued an attacker who allegedly stabbed a man on a train. The knife-wielding man, who was allegedly drunk, reportedly stabbed a 22-year-old man in the leg on the Long Island Rail Road train in Queens, New York on Saturday evening. After the alleged stabbing, several men who had been partaking in SantaCon – an annual barhopping tradition in which participants dress in festive costumes – began beating the 45-year-old attacker, then held him until police arrived.
The incident was later posted to Twitter by a user who wrote: ‘Just so everyone’s clear the guys in the santa costumes did not start this. The old drunk man enticing them did.’: ‘A bunch of people jumped on him and they managed to hold the guy down and beat them up bad until the cops arrived and even then he was resisting arrest.’
