The Queen missed a trip to Northern Ireland to spend Wednesday night in’s private King Edward VII’s Hospital where she underwent ‘some preliminary investigations’ by medics.Mr Witchell said it indicated ‘further subsequent investigations’ might follow.

He said the palace line that her majesty is in ‘good spirits’ despite not being at full health was ‘clichéd’ now.The palace announced the cancelled trip, saying the Queen had ‘reluctantly accepted medical advice to rest for the next few days’.But it was forced into headtopics.com

releasing a statementabout that evening’s hospital trip last night when a tabloid newspaper broke the news.The statement said: ‘Following medical advice to rest for a few days, the Queen attended hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary investigations, returning to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today, and remains in good spirits.’
