Roadmap out of lockdown should be DELAYED due to Indian variant surge, expert warns

Grant Shapps to hold green listfalls below 1,000 for first time in a YEARDr Duncan Robinson said the roadmap might need to be delayed to stop the spread in the weeks and months aheadDr Robinson explained that businesses will need to be given a weeks' notice in order to successfully reopen on May 17 and that means making a decision at the weekend or early next week.

Despite this, Dr Robinson highlighted that 13 per cent of under-40s have not been vaccinated and that many people in the Black/African/Caribbean/Black British population have also not received a dose.He highlighted areas such as Oswaldtwistle with 452 cases per 100,000 and rising 175 per cent compared to the previous week and Hyndburn which has 233 cases per 100,000 and are rising 650 per cent.

"There is no provision in the Roadmap for regional unlocking, although there is provision in the Steps legislation."As well as Dr Robinson's observations, data from Public Health England shows that Bolton in Greater Manchester has one of the highest infection rates in the country. Dr Robinson's remarks come after chief medical officer Chris Whitty said the world will continue to see a significant number of deaths if more vulnerable people are not vaccinated.Speaking at a Royal Society online event about Covid-19 on Thursday he said the variants will continue to cause issues.

“Experts warn” means “please accept our deception”.

Correct

Oh go away 🙄

Bog off!

No thanks

So because a large number of some ethnicities refuse to get vaccinated, we should all be locked up? Great plan

Piss off!

Don't think so ffs

So let's all get vaccinated and stay indoors great idea.

It's not hard to see why Dr Duncan thinks this. He looks like the sort of person who's highlight of the year is to grease the hinges on all his cupboard doors.

Is anyone supprised? There will always be varients and if the healthy keep running away they will always be running. Keep our vulneable ones safe and allow natural healthy immune response for everyone else.

why do you give these so called experts a platform to peddle their doom. Shouldn’t The Sun be promoting a positive voice? There are so many experts with a view the MSM and especially your publication should know better by now. We are bored of reading this spin.

Chinese virus is racist but Indian variant is not? How about Indian variant of Chinese virus? Is that racist or not?

You brits,are crazy
