THE QUEEN has delivered a poignant message about the 'passage of time', via Prince Edward, who delivered her message to the Church of England's Opening Session of the 11th General Synod.

The Earl of Wessex, delivering her speech, said:"It is hard to believe that it is over 50 years since Prince Philip and I attended the very first meeting of the General Synod.
