Some UK residents coming back from South Africa still struggling to find quarantine hotel rooms

The quarantine hotel room one passenger returning from South Africa eventually checked into

"Eventually, on 2 December, on one of my many calls to [the booking company] CTM, they told me there is no availability until at least after the 10th." As they required a family room, they were asked to fill in a separate form rather than book through the general website.

There's no point in restrictions, if international travel isn't banned. How else can these variants from overseas be getting into the country?

Allow people to self quarantine at home if they live alone. You’re forcing some helpless folks to fall into perpetual debt. This is pure extortion under the guise of safety and actually does more harm to why you are doing it and the people you’re doing it for.

If your travelling abroad for work/business. Then we have enough places. It you go abroad on holiday then expect the bills & consequence. Virus vaccination increases protection not stop it. Reason we have flu jab each year. 1918/20 flu killed over 100m without planes just war!!

Why don't they just go home?

Share your views on the new proposals to tackle drugs in the UKWe would like to hear your thoughts on drug users possibly losing their passports or driving licences as a deterrent If they're wealthy professionals then slap them with a fine in proportion to their wealth. The way Switzerland does with speeding fines. Decriminalize. Let them have it. Their body their choice. Its their right to pursue happiness. As long as they don't harm anyone else. Decriminalisation/legalisation is the answer.
