A senior government source has told Sky News that Boris Johnson will resign.He said he will stand down, and a new party leader is set to be installed by the time of the party conference in October, a Downing Street source said.Dominic Cummings, Boris Johnson's former chief adviser, said in the last few moments that"inside the bunker they're saying it's over"."Regime change is here", Mr Cummings adds.
But now one of my sources tells me this morning that those cabinet figures who want him to go are having conversations with other people in Number 10. While not resigning from his post, Mr Zahawi has added a public call to his private urging for the PM to go. "Yesterday, I made clear to the prime minister alongside my colleagues in Number 10 that there was only one direction where this was going, and that he should leave with dignity.
