Members of the public are being asked to avoid the area

Police are currently in attendance at the security alert after a suspicious object was found in the Madden Road area of the Co Armagh town.Police are asking motorists and members of the public to avoid the area.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "There is currently a security alert in the Madden Road area of Tandragee following the discovery of a suspicious object. Cordons are in place at Terryhoogan Road, outside Tandragee FC and at Madden House. Motorists and the public are advised to avoid the area at this time."
