Pete Hamill, the self-taught, streetwise newspaper columnist whose love affair with New York inspired a colorful and uniquely influential journalistic career and produced several books of fiction and non-fiction, died on Wednesday morning. He was 85.
He had such a wonderfully poetic turn of phrase - watched him only recently in the Bobby Kennedy for President Netflix series.
