State pensioners with poor eyesight could get as much as £407 each month from the Department for Work and Pensions .
It is believed around two million people across the UK suffer from a form of sight loss or degenerative eye condition. Some eligible people could get some extra cash because of this via Personal Independence Payment or Attendance Allowance. Of the two million, more than 57,000 are working-age adults under 65 who are receiving extra support through PIP while more than 45,000 are over State Pension age and getting support through Attendance Allowance. The support can help provide some financial bonuses for those who suffer from an eye condition such as cataracts, glaucoma, or macular degeneration, the Daily Record reports.Meanwhile, those under the State Pension age with sight conditions can make similar claims under PIP.
