More than 16,000 people have signed an open letter calling on the BBC to apologise for an online news article about trans women and lesbians.quoted lesbians who felt "pressured into sex by some trans women".

"It is vital that the BBC, which is a government-endorsed public service that claims to be committed to achieving impartiality with the output of it's content, rectifies this act with a sincere apology, amendment of the article to clarify the falsehoods and damage within, and commits to realigning with their original mission statement.

"It is important that journalism looks at issues - even where there are strongly held positions. The BBC is here to ensure debate and to make sure a wide a range of voices are heard."

Hey why did you choose to ignore the fact that one of the only people directly cited in that piece is an admitted rapist, even when people warned of that fact?

Good. They literally did a survey of 80 members of a hate group and published it as though it was a national poll that said that trans people were sexual predators. Scummy move which comes as no surprise as the BBC is run by a Tory.

Any support? Yes.

I'm surprised you had the guts to publish it; I didn't expect that. Hopefully, it's just the beginning.

Showing your true colours again Boris Broadcasting Company?

The cult is as real as it is utterly bonkers. No apology necessary. The Twitter TRA movememt includes some dangerous, horrific people

You have to laugh. Out with Twitter, I don’t suppose 16,000 people know what “cisgender” means.

Without a similar BBC article covering the issue of straight Men pressuring straight Women into sex then of course it is discriminatory.

I'm usually sceptical about complaints about bias in the BBC (which usually amount to criticisms about the lack of the complainer's bias). I have to admit that my impression is that the article gave much to weight to anti-trans groups and perspectives though.
