The 1D star has stayed out of the public eye since cancelling his South American tour back in August

Former One Direction star Liam Payne has been spotted out and about in Northern Ireland weeks after disappearing from the public eye after he cancelled his upcoming South American tour. The one time X Factor finalist had been rushed to hospital with a serious kidney infection while on holiday in Italy with girlfriend Kate Cassidy.

Posting on social media, the National Trust at Carrick-a-Rede spoke of their delight to welcome the star to the attraction and wished him well for the rest of his visit to Northern Ireland. "Josh was more than happy to share his knowledge of the site, and answer any questions Liam had We hope Liam had a fantastic visit to Carrick-a-Rede, and that he enjoys the rest of his time in Northern Ireland,"
