The UK's largest nursing union says it is 'inevitable' more health workers will die from coronavirus

She said the circumstances of both deaths had to be reviewed and protocols for frontline staff examined. It comes amid reports that up to 30 nurses are off sick with coronavirus at Southend Hospital in Essex.

"I do believe, sadly, it is inevitable we will see more nurses and other healthcare professionals die."

First thing is to minimize the spread to minimize the medical requirements. When the medical power is overwhelmed by exceeded patients, health workers are obliged to work overtime Which damages the immune system of them.

Thank

“ Ms Fyffe said there were still concerns about whether staff had the personal protective equipment they needed ..” Our team of medics and engineers has built AerosolSHIELD to help the cause - ‘PPE around the patient’. Help staff intervene quickly with greater confidence

Of course it is. Just like some soldiers on the front line sadly perish. It's not for sensationalistic value.

Hydroxy-chloroquine

It’s “inevitable “ .. it can be “preventable” NHS workers have no proper protection and no testing kits until now!! They need PPE more than clapping.. my husband is a hospital doctor , risking his life to help COVID19 patients with minimum protection..

It's also all Health Care workers union. We should give the government 7 days notice of strikes if proper PPE is not supplied to all workers We are on war footing. Force/incentise companies to manufacture ppe now. To paraphrase 'No one wants to bring a wet sponge to a gun fight'

Health workers, police officers, retail staff, etc have to face this every day while Teachers Unions were given free passes for their members to sit at home. Isn't this how soldiers on the beaches at Dunkirk felt about the RAF? Not doing their bit. GavinWilliamson Keir_Starmer

Should not be like this. Heartbreaking

It shouldn't be that way!

Its inevitable they say. If it is, why not supply the PPEs by using our union membership fees?

Protect doctors and nurses so that more lives can be saved。God bless。

Hope all these people planning on going out this weekend read this. People don't really have an excuse to leave their house unless it's for essential shopping or work. People can exercise in theirs houses or gardens and I'm sure dogs will be alright without their 10 mile walk

God help them they are so brave & dedicated.

Captain Crozier cheered by sailors after dismissal over coronavirus plea

How many die every year from communicable disease & work related deaths for some perspective?

The health workers couldn't die if they wear the protective suits like this pic.

No surprise at all! Lack of protection from the day one and still no proper protection.

They're being treated like soldiers rather than nurses. If you're going to throw them on the front lives and have them risk their lives, the least u can do is pay them well.

PPE guidelines the hospital are generating are wrong and not sufficient to protect front line staff. Being told to wear surgical masks as oppose to Respirators when caring for COVID positive patients, when it is known that these to DONT filter out viral particles suspended in air

..p

What is wrong with reporters at the BBC these days? Xi Jinping is thankful for your loyalty. Now how about a few articles about the British resolve to get through tough times, and stand up to a fascist CCP government that cover this up to kill all free people in The West.

This should not be acceptable as normal!! This should be fought to reduce risk with every sinew we have but the government just don’t care about NHS staff, if the last 10 yrs didn’t prove that, their lack of supplying staff with enough PPE speaks volumes. We are expendable.

So it means that those Hazmat suits and Protective astronauts gear is not doing its job .

I know it's irrelevant here, but what's the name of the stabber? EmilyJones *A 30-year-old woman arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder has been detained at a secure facility under the Mental Health Act*

What underlying conditions are causing their deaths? How is it that in Italy healthcare workers who were tested positive still had to work in wings of COVID-19 patients?

While footballars refuse to cut their wages.

Frightening times, especially as my wife is a Nurse at York Hospital and for all healthcare workers. Thoughts with those NHSheroes that have sadly lost their lives. NHSThankYou StayHomeSaveLives

First, the doctors and nurses should be protected like their Chinese colleagues.

So sad for all frontline workers to go through this, God Bless you and keep you safe!

With this beautiful nurse is also Nasrin a Kurdish nurse by origin dies in service a mother to three girls both nurses have left 6 children

They are normalising it and so are you BBC. Disgusting.

o7

Where's the PPE?

So Sad. Thoughts are with the families of everyone succumbing to this virus.

TheIPA

Shame. God will protect for you are doing a noble job

These brave young men and women dying is the very worst thing about this virus. I hope the govt or someone sets up a site where we can all donate cash to the families of these NHS heroes

stop spreading is top 1 priority

Worrying times. God bless NHS staff 🙏🏻🇬🇧 COVID19

♥️

That's what happens when you drag OAP's out of retirement to work for the chronically underfunded NHS. Nice bit of spin though
