‘Our Autobahn dial is inspired by the instruments of legendary sportsfrom the 1970s and 1980s,’ he adds. ‘The zenith of automotive design gave us not only spectacular vehicle bodies and silhouettes, but also interior designs and dashboard instruments that remain the templates and archetypes for the development of transportation to this day.’
The new watches are a colourful rethink of the original 2018 Autobahn model. They encompass various hues, from the minimalist black and grey of the A9 to the sporty dashboard aesthetic of the A3, and the vintage appeal of the blue and yellow A7. The thinness of the movement allows for greater curves, which hug the raised dial, complemented by a luminous ring that makes for effortless legibility in the dark.
‘They are slightly unusual in their choices of colour,’ says Aisslinger. ‘The colours are vibrant, striking and yet extremely wearable. A confident statement on good design.’ §
