No charges will be brought over the death of a railway worker who was reportedly spat at by a man claiming to have coronavirus, prosecutors say.
Ms Mujinga was working as a sales clerk at the station on 21 March when she was allegedly spat at by someone who claimed to have the virus. BTP then requested the CPS carried out an independent review of the case in light of the"wider public interest", after more than two million people signed a petition in support of Mrs Mujinga.
"Therefore, after careful consideration and with all lines of inquiry explored, we have advised BTP no further reliable evidence has become available to change their original decision in this case," she said.Ms Mujinga had been working as a sales clerk at Victoria Station when she was allegedly spat at
Why didnt CPS release the CCTV footage? Should it not be in public domain?
Spitting is disgusting and there should be harsh penalties for it
How terrible!
Now that is systemic!
All these fucking comments on here the man didn't spit at her she caught it from somewhere else
SHE WAS BLACK SO THE BRITISH JUSTICE SYSTEM WONT WAIST ANY TIME, SAME WITH THE POORER PEOPLE, YOU ONLY GET JUSTICE IF YOU CAN AFFORD A CORRUPED BARRISTER!!!
DefundTheBBC disgusting organisation the bbc is now taking money from vulnerable OAPs over 75 years old who just want to watch a TV.... during a pandemic. If they don't, they'll send the goons round... Greedy and vile... bbcnews
Still charge him for spitting. Filthy scum bag
What is she wearing?! Looks ridiculous.
Isn't spitting bad enough anyway you could get all sorts Disgusting people around shame he's not been charged.
Should still be charged with assault if there is sufficient evidence.
So when a footballer spits at an opponent is that assault, or an athlete spits and it hits another running is that assault just curious it's disgusting and wrong I agree and even now in football if you deliberately cough in the direction of a player you can be sent off.
Regardless of Covid, spitting at someone is an assault on the Boeing an act of disgrace. He should have been charged with an assault.
Well he never had coronavirus so it was clear weeks ago there was no case
Don’t let the truth get in the way of a good story
Perhaps make a statue of this lady to replace some slave owners 😬
Man not charged with infecting someone with a disease he didn't have based on false hearsay evidence. Curiously at the time the BBC were reporting this as if he'd stabbed her and written a confession in blood.
Because it didn’t happen.
Wtf is this. So we can now spit on people intentionally knowing that we have something that could kill them.
They would have thrown the book at him given the chance .so I would imagine there must of been an element of doubt . Very sad loss all the same .
You said back in May that the Police had already concluded that her death wasn't due to her being spat at .
Read this in the BBC report : ‘The suspect had been tested for the Covid-19 on 25 March and was found not to be infected with it.’ I’m not sure why the BBC would even report this if the guy who spat tested negative ?
Article is not clear. Are no charges being brought because they cannot confirm the suspect they arrested is the actual man who did it ( evidential decision ) or it is the right man but its not in the public interest to pursue as he didnt have covid, which would be a disgrace.
That's disgraceful - there is now a MURDERER walking around behaving as though completely innocent. THIS IS SIMPLY WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS. the Lady was simply going about her legitimate daily work.
That actually worked? 😂
Spitting is disgusting. Whatever the lady died of, this guy should be charged with something, surely?
Why do people jump in with comments without reading the article?!
Cool, I'll just go out and spit at someone then since that's not assault anymore.
Spitting is a filthy habit. But the key fact seems to be that 'the man' tested negative for covid? Therefore not linked to her death from covid?
What the fuck?
WHY NOT
Burden of proof too challenging?
