Sturgeon has been accused of lying to parliament and breaking the ministerial code by the leader of the Scottish Conservatives.

Nicola Sturgeon is facing calls to resign over her handling of the Alex SalmondThe documents, shared today, show that legal counsel advised the Scottish Government to concede to Mr Salmond more than two months before their legal battle collapsed.

Ross said: ‘Credible witnesses have now backed up Alex Salmond’s claims and the legal advice shows the Government knew months in advance that the judicial review was doomed, but they still went on to waste more than £500,000 of taxpayers’ money.‘There is no longer any doubt that Nicola Sturgeon lied to the Scottish Parliament and broke the ministerial code on numerous counts.’

Deputy First Minister John Swinney had agreed to hand over the legal advice under the threat of a no-confidence vote, and acknowledged ‘reservations were raised’ by government lawyers about the way allegations about Mr Salmond were investigated.

Nicola Sturgeon 'misled Scottish Parliament over Alex Salmond investigation'MSPs have reportedly concluded that the first minister misled a Holyrood inquiry over a meeting with her predecessor. Misled? Lied through her teeth just like her husband. Having secret meetings before a crucial court case with the complainer just before admitting defeat and paying out £500,000. That needs to be looked into. Jail the both of them.
