Prime Minister Liz Truss confirms households in Northern Ireland will get a £400 energy support discount in November in an interview with BBCNewsNI 📝 Read more: 🎥 Watch the full interview with endamcclafferty here:

Households in Northern Ireland will get a £400 energy support discount in November, Liz Truss has said.

"The action we have taken will ensure people are paying no more than £2,500 on a typical energy bill this winter and next winter and that will help to reduce inflation by up to 5%." She said those included restoring the "primacy of the Belfast Good Friday Agreement so that we are treating both communities in Northern Ireland fairly".

But the protocol brought in some new checks on goods moving between Great Britain and Northern Ireland and has been criticised by unionist politicians. However, the majority of politicians elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly in May's elections support the arrangements.

trussliz The DUP are NOT part of the UK GOVERNMENT, who are the ONLY ones that the EU WILL deal with. It is UK/EU AGREEMENT, therefore trussliz does NOT need the dup's approval.

trussliz Well done 10DowningStreet

trussliz The EU has just placed windfall tax on the energy companies, but we are not in the EU or are we

mooreholmes24 trussliz Great to hear NI being treated equally with other UK areas, I suppose the tory haters will say, why isn't it £600...

trussliz Believe it when I see it.

endamcclafferty Clueless. Embarrassment to the Tories. Worse than Boris and that is hard to do. Loves fracking and that will be her downfall. Absolutely cringeworthy performance with local radio stations this morning.

endamcclafferty Would have preferred money to help with gas

endamcclafferty Buy now really pay later

trussliz And electric companies sit in £400 credit from each customer, making interest of it all. can’t see them reducing my monthly payment until the £400 is used so we won’t really see a different in our purse! Would have preferred it off my gas,

endamcclafferty So we will wait as usual while the children get there act together at the executive

trussliz Buy now really pay later

trussliz Omg. £1 to $1.11

endamcclafferty Fucking hell she looks haunted

trussliz Up yours SFIRA AND and you EU!

mag_rfc trussliz Ms.Truss to you.

endamcclafferty She will be getting her P45 soon.

trussliz We won't be able to use it when we're living in tents!!

trussliz I'll spend mine on a freddo bar by that stage

trussliz That was always going to happen but there’s some that like to scaremonger for political reasons 😉

endamcclafferty And

trussliz N.B. Enda McClafferty. Posing a question then interrupting the reply is not good journalism unless of course your Tara Mills .

endamcclafferty That was as clear as mud

endamcclafferty After watching that interview. I wouldn't believe her radio

trussliz This is disgusting the rich are richer the poor poorer

endamcclafferty How is it backdated? It’s a lump sum right?

endamcclafferty Clown

endamcclafferty She still doesn't say how though does she? That's because she knows full fine rightly there's no mechanism to pay it & there won't be without an Executive.

endamcclafferty Truss equating a £400 discount to 'not struggling' and implying that it means the bills aren't still 'very high' 🤔

endamcclafferty I’ll believe it when I get it!!

trussliz eastantrimmp pork chop face, I have raised a complaint with the ChiefConPSNI about your lies lies and more lies

trussliz Shinners spoofing again 😏

trussliz Will this be the case if there's an election called?

trussliz Hang on she says we’re facing bills of £6k, we won’t pay more than £2.5k this winter, and we’re getting £400, which is basically a bung to the energy companies. Take to the streets October 1st

trussliz We’ve reached the stage there this ‘confirmation’ is useless. Because it comes from Liz Truss

trussliz Heating Oil will be over £1000+ for 900Ltr before we see a penny of that money!

trussliz Yeah yeah. There goes another piggy flying past.

trussliz Nutcase Alert 🚨

trussliz When are the Irish Government donating funds to the hoards of wanna be Irish Republican Citizen living in Northern Ireland or is it just the good old British Government bailing them out

trussliz Oil companies never miss a chance, do they?

trussliz By then that won't buy very much

trussliz It’s like giving you a walking stick after broken your legs😉

trussliz Really?

trussliz Will we have a government here though?

trussliz Cheers 🍻 cheaper energy August September 👌 but yes we bow down
