Test and trace is Serco and Dido Harding’s project. Not the NHS. Dido happily paid consultants thousands of pounds a day, when they had no discernible expertise in public health. They set up private testing labs using unregistered staff.

the argument to continue funding this, because we have already spent so much on it, is a clear example of the « sunk cost fallacy ». the real reason to do it would be to keep paying private contractors billions of pounds for a system that is unfit for purpose.
