The i weekend says that "panic buying" has left No 10 "reeling". A government source has told the i that the Ministry of Defence is prepared to send troops to fuel depots if needed.

Panic buying caused by media. There is no shortage.
Goodbye BBC news - you got your headline!
Of course this has nothing to do with you and the rest of the media scum lighting the fire in the first place. The fact that the BBC has clickbait titles on it's website tells you all you need to know about the state of journalism in the UK.
Y'all mass media caused this
1.6MILLION UNEMPLOYED UK and our prime minister highlights to the world he can't even organise a few lorry drivers..... ShameOnBritain🏴 BorisJohnson
BBC put out this story too and discussed before any panic, so nice diversion! On the plus side…the media have created more revenue for government and fuel companies…almost if it was planned!
From unzipping Boris to causing panic the BBC have excelled themselves in candid and accurate reporting. One day when they wipe the brown off their lips they might mention in reference that elusive of all words - Brexit.
Well done BBCBreaking and all other MSM for scaremongering AGAIN to create panic.
It's not a handful. There are 8 in my area all closed. People are so selfish .. this will affect our emergency vehicles. Plus yesterday the pump price had increased by 10p a litre! grantshapps BorisJohnson 10DowningStreet
BBC caused this panic , shameful reporting
The mainstream media have now caused a fuel crisis where there wasn't one. They way they reported a shortage of drivers prompted mindless & selfish people to head to the pumps and buy up fuel where they didn't need to. The losers are the poor people stuck at work yesterday
Haulage industry want cheap foreign drivers back, so drip scare stories until public start panic buying. Media help by perpetuating result. No10 forced to act, Truck drivers back to £10 / hour. Job done!
travel by public transport instead. Oh yeah, the government put people off doing that, for no good reason now.
Quitters should be rationing what little they already had, they voted for this mess.
🤣 Petrol shortage. Food shortage. Winter is coming. Brexit Fail Don't say we didn't tell you what was crystal clear and predictable. Even an eight-year-old could see it coming.
This weekend its all about ThatPetrolEmotion Take the risk of forecourt hope everlastingyeah
The BBC along with other media outlets are to blame for the panic buying DefundTheBBC
It’s people like you who cause this panic, a few have shut but there’s thousands more.
The bloody newspapers caused it 🤣😄😂
Could not buy petrol today, not because Tesco had run out but because they shut long Eaton and Toton stations way before their advertised closing time. This left me to travel home on empty which is dangerous especially as it is lanes and I'm a lone female. They are creating panic
I’ve heard there is going to be a shortage of beer, best do some panic buying
And why is there a panic, because the media decided to report a few BP filling stations had delivery problems, you have caused the panic irresponsible reporting of a story that did not need broadcast
