Several of Sunday's papers feature developments surrounding the UK's driver shortage.

Several of Sunday's papers feature developments surrounding the UK's lorry driver shortage. The Sunday Telegraph reports that Boris Johnson has called for drivers to be given a pay rise. It comes as ministers urged 40,000 retired HGV drivers to return to work as supply chain issues led to disruption at petrol stations.

Sticking with Labour coverage, the Sunday Mirror leads with an interview with the party's leader who has told the paper that he plans to scrap the charitable status of private schools. Sir Keir wants to end the VAT and business rate exemptions they currently benefit from. Such reforms would raise £1.7bn, Labour says.Elsewhere, the Sunday Times says Mr Johnson will back a new generation of nuclear reactors as Britain faces an energy crisis.

Agreed. BBC is in Tory tanoy BUT, those journalist guests eg. Ali & James Rampton ( 8 mins ago) on ‘Wothepapersay’) hit drawing pin on the head with, “… Labour have so many open goals …” to bulldoze the Cons, but they’re pondering “Tax rises on Indie schools 2pay 4 State 1s”?!!

HEADLINE: Boris Johnson faces humiliation & ridicule as he makes massive Brexit U-turn BUT No of drivers needed- 90,000 No of new visas- 5,000 “This announcement is the equivalent of throwing a thimble of water on a bonfire.' BrexitFuelShortages

A Tory PM calling for more pay for a group of workers? What about the dividends of the party donors if they have to eat into their profits to give the workers a rise? Yeh, we all know it's another load of BS.

Well done to all news media platforms again, scaremongering a fuel crisis when there wasn’t one, take responsibility for creating chaos everywhere, leaving essential services/people that need fuel in a precarious position.

Why doesn’t the government pay for the pay rise they caused the mess minister should take pay cut to foot the bill

Truckers get a pay rise but NHS staff don’t. Westminster are an embarrassment

it better not be more than the Drs and nurses got, you egregious villains

Strange that you don't see the govt in total chaos ? Chaos after chaos

I hope so

Tory chaos more like. But go on keep attacking Labour

The tories have the bbc in their pockets. A shame. I’ve always supported the bbc. Never again

Let’s see if this is true

Won’t somebody please think of Eamonn Holmes?

good luck
