Mystery scrolls from Julius Caesar's family villa to be read for the first time in 2000 years after they were consumed by ash

Hundreds of scrolls from the Herculaneum library were buried and carbonised. They resurfaced in 1752 in Julius Casesar's family villa near the Bay of Naples. British scientists are using a synchrotron particle accelerator to scan the texts.
