He's getting bored with you....
I love dogs but, like having children, you shouldn't do it unless you are in a position to ensure they don't go without what they need. We work full time and have a small courtyard, ergo we rescued a cat instead. Not sure what we will do for holidays yet but they are rare anyway.
My advice, act like a dog.
Your partner could find a new partner
Just leave a pack of poop bags laying about.
As long as your partner is properly house trained it shouldn’t be a problem. And he will be so please to see you and the dog when you get back. 🙂
I have three cats and I spend two months away from home every year. They keep each other company and are seemingly okay with us being away as they are happy to see us and never hold grudges. I can't see that happening with a dog.
Take the dog with you, great dog friendly places in the UK.
If you had freedom of movement you could take your dog anywhere with you
I worry when I'm skint.
I know, I have always the same problem with my basil plants.
We leave in Berlin and use Petbacker App. You can offer to sit for other peoples' pets and likewise find someone for yours.

Dogs are emotional creatures - if your vacations are frequent & longish - DON'T GET A DOG - nor a cat. They both bind themselves 2 U & weeks being away often(ish) is painful for them. I did international biz, 1 time, 165k miles in 10 mo - 2 cats - broke my heart & hell for them
If you don’t want a dog then don’t do it. I agreed to us having a dog, one of my biggest regrets.
Love and affection from the right dog will be worth it.

If this is your 'life' problem, you've got it made
Just say: 'You can have a dog, but you'll have to look after it all by yourself. It needs fed and groomed and it also needs walked outside at least 2x per day, also when the weather is awful.' Works every time 😅
Costs of care Why? Dogs love holidays or as you say vacations. But why do you have a partner? Cost a lot too.
Don't have babies, have dogs instead. 🐕🐩🐶
You don't deserve a dog.
No pools no pets
You must have a trusted dog-loving friend or relation who can house still while away? Or have dog stay at kennels nearby 💞

Don't put the dog in a kennel find someone who can housesit. Preferably the same person. There are good sites online if a friend can't do it. If kenneling your dog seems like a good option please don't get a dog.
Ditch the bitch; and I don’t mean the dog.
