Will we be getting My Name season 2?
Sadly, the answer seems to be no. Just like Squid Game, the plot of My Name pretty much comes to a conclusion at the end of season one. Not only is a common for Korean dramas to be written as one season but the show's actor Han So Hee explained that she felt there was nothing left to explore after the finale.
“I think I’d die,” she joked, when asked about a second season in an interview with Korean publication“I don’t know what I have left to show. I think I’d have to develop superpowers,” she added. However, that doesn't mean a second seas is impossible. Especially since fans have been advocating for a sequel ever since watching the show. So, what could it be about?The end of season one sees Ji Woo's father Dong-hoon revealed as an undercover policeman who’s real name is Joon-su. We also find out that that Mu-jin, the head of Dongcheon, is actually Ji Woo's father’s killer.
It does all feel a little final, it does mean that there could be a second chapter to the story focusing on Ji-woo and Gi-ho's future. We'd definitely be watching!
