As 30-year-old Jessica tried to console him, two strangers rushed over and reassured her young daughter while phoning for an ambulance. After learning there was almost an eight hour wait, a kind man offered to drop their bikes and scooters off at home and take them to Stepping Hill Hospital.

Roary needed an operation for his injury and was in theatre for three hours, Jessica said. He is now recovering well at home – but the mum-of-two is keen to trace the kind strangers who rushed to her son’s aid.
