Government threatens BBC's funding after it axes free TV licences for over-75sFURIOUS ministers threatened the BBC’s funding last night after it defied them by axing free TV licences for most over-75s from the end of the month. Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden warned th… If I were +75 I'd simply cancel my licence. No way I'd be paying for TV when the likes of Lineker are raking in millions. I guess the Commons, esp its Committee on culture&Info, please pardon me in case I didn't get the title of the COMM, will have to wield in with a view to suspending the abolished Free TV licences or postpone this decision till another time when everything comes back to normalcy. The BBC should have it's funding slashed and be ordered to stop paying silly money to former footballers who could be replaced by any number of people at a fraction of the cost.If they really are trying to tempt newly gay Schofield with a deal heads should roll.
