Dreams really do come true.

But the past two weeks there’s been a light at the end of the tunnel, as McDonald’s has slowly been reopening stores – albeit with a limited menu.

But now it seems there’s more good news, as the fast food giant has announced that more menu items could be on the way very soon – including the return of the humble McMuffin. A statement sent to Metro.co.uk from McDonald’s UK and Ireland CEO Paul Pomroy explained the chain plans to reintroduce the breakfast favourite soon.

It said: ‘Over the coming months, we will explore how to extend the menu, increase our opening hours and reintroduce those much-missed McMuffins at breakfast.’ However, it stressed that McDonald’s will do so very cautiously and guided by information from the government and health officials. It added: ‘Working with our employees, franchisees and suppliers I want to ensure we only move forward to the next stage of reopening at the right time, when we are confident it is safe for us to do so.’
