Prof Andrew Hayward says level of infections could soon lead to substantial pressure on NHS

Any lifting of Covid restrictions this month will “fan the flames” of rising infections in England and could lead to similar levels as last winter’s second wave within two months, one of the government’s leading scientific advisers has said.

The propaganda rises, to gauge the sentiment, before decision on lifting restrictions, by how much or not, is made.

The vaccine doesn't work then? When are folk going to wake up

But almost everyone will be vaccinated by winter, and all older and vulnerable people now are. Unless they're worried about new mutations that the vaccines won't protect from, what is the problem?

Does that mean we live like this forever? Time to take a risk and get back to normal.

A third wave of a respiratory virus in mid-summer? With the numbers we have vaccinated as well? There has to come a point where we ask is the vaccine actually working? Otherwise, why else are these people advising us to keep restrictions. It makes no sense EnoughIsEnough

Cases doesn’t mean hospitalisation. What about patient profiles? Many of those with Covid last year were elderly people, often with underlying health issues. Even if younger people only have 1 vaccine by the Autumn, the impact will be lessened. This scaremongering is tiresome 😓

Absolute nonsense from a government groupthink pay slave, but even if there is any truth in the possibility, it is far more damaging to far more people being under or continuing restrictions. We need to be able to take control back right now. Enough of this insanity.

EnoughIsEnough

Bollocks

I feel for all the families who have children suffering from mental health issues and my heart goes out to anyone who has lost people through lockdown suicide. The genocide caused by this lab virus can never happen again.

Just fuck off now

The truth is that SAGE don't have a clue. They have been far too slow to analyse data. Of course I won't get the pathetic rag saying that

And it could endanger farther Christmas

Listening to Sage advisers could give you cancer.

We don’t yet for sure. It probably will be a problem if certain segments of our populations remain resistant to the concept of vaccination. The goal should be to keep the vaccine campaigns going so we don’t have to shut down again in fall.

The metrics should be hospitalisations and deaths. Stop with your incessant fear mongering.

It also could not.

'China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!”

Cases maybe, does that mean hospitalisations and deaths? That's the important thing now. There's a risk of new variants but that risk is always there for people coming in from places with much lower vaccination rates& higher cases. if we dont open up now we may as well never open

So they should be in place indefinitely

BS!

IndependentSage need to F*** off! All of their predictions over this pandemic have been wrong!!!

It was exactly like this last summer… no vaccines. Next winter is going to be Hell.

Drop Covid vaccine patent rules to save lives in world’s poorest countries, Britain and Germany toldG7 summit hears move would slash the cost of jabs and accelerate the rollout of programmes across the developing world Spot on, as ever the Pharma companies just want to make as much money as they can out of this. AstraZeneca make much of selling at cost. What they don't publicise is that Oxford Uni demand this. But will charge full price later on If the parents were free the poorest countries still do not have the infrastructure, technology, trained staff , manufacturing etc to manufacture vaccines - the patents issues is just being used shamelessly by the usual quarters . If it wasn’t for the western countries fronting the costs and their scientists and pharmaceuticals developing the vaccines; there would be no vaccines. It shouldn’t boil down to stopping vaccinating the young so you can vaccinate Africa. It should be about ramping up production

COVID-19: UK reports 7,738 new coronavirus cases and 12 further deathsA further 7,738 coronavirus cases and 12 deaths have been recorded in the UK, the latest figures show. The number of new infections reported on Saturday is less than Friday's total of 8,125 - which was the highest since late February Hugh Osmond (hughosmond) Tweeted: There are lot of Lockdown Loonies who have gone very quiet about India. Funny how cases have fallen without major lockdown measures or vaccinations. Maybe the Indian variant is less transmissible after all? JuliaHB1 Can you please stop referring to positive tests as cases. The latter infers illness and hospitalisation and that is not the case. It’s almost as if you want us to be in some sort of perpetual lockdown for ever.

Vaccine hesitancy and variants mean Australia may not reach Covid herd immunity – researchersModelling by the Burnet Institute indicates some need for lockdowns and other public health measures will remain long term Are these dire predictions thought through?
