Life on Mars creator confirms third and final series is in the works

Fire up the Quattro: Life on Mars is to return for a third and final series set in the 70s, 80s and an alternate present, its creator has confirmed.

I have a theory, maybe this is to help explain what happened to sam tyler, before ashes to ashes. We've heard what happened but we've not seen it, maybe this is to fill in that last blank of the story. Could just be me, but it seems like it won't undo season 2's ending.

This is very cool news, but I hope it doesn't undo the perfect ending the show already had. The final scene of Life on Mars series 2 was one of the best TV endings ever
