King Charles 'deeply touched' as he thanks nation for support on eve of Queen's funeral

Charles, 73, said he wanted, “as we all prepare to say our last farewell”, to offer his gratitude to “all those countless people who have been such a support and comfort to my Family and myself in this time of grief”.

Charles said, in the written message issued by Buckingham Palace: “Over the last ten days, my wife and I have been so deeply touched by the many messages of condolence and support we have received from this country and across the world. Prior to the message of thanks, King Charles and his wife Queen Consort Camilla hosted world leaders and official overseas guests at Buckingham Palace on the eve before the funeral.

She was pictured speaking to the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, to welcome her to Buckingham Palace while her husband stays behind to deal with the country's war with Russia.
