An NHS worker and her builder fiancé from Kettering are celebrating winning £1,000,000 on The National Lottery. Maxine Lloyd, 50, and Wayne Tilbury, 57, won the top prize on The National Lottery’s £30,000,000 Mega Cash Showdown Instant Win Game on The National Lottery app.
Maxine was diagnosed with breast cancer last November after she noticed a change in her skin texture. She had surgery in December and on Christmas Eve received the fantastic news the primary cancer had been successfully removed. Recounting the story of how the pair found out they were winners, Maxine said: “Wayne was fast asleep after taking some medication for a nasty chest infection, but I was wide awake so decided to play a National Lottery game on my phone.At NorthantsLive we're more than just news. We cover what people are talking about every day and celebrate the very best that this incredible part of the world has to offer.“After not very long it was suggesting I had won £1 million but I kept on playing.
Maxine has had two weeks of radiotherapy, finishing last week when she rang the bell to symbolise the successful ending of her treatment.
