Despite announcing plans for a follow up to her celebrated documentary, Finding Derek, Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway says she won't be turning her family's fight into a full-blown series
The film, which recently won an NTA award, included raw footage of Derek's fight against Covid-19 that left him hospitalised in 2020. Kate and her kids were seen coming to terms with Derek's recovery and what it meant for them as a family.Speaking to OK! at The Sun's Who Cares Wins Awards this week, Good Morning Britain presenter Kate explained that she wasn't planning on making a whole series of her award winning show.

Kate's comments come days after she revealed she was working on a follow up to the documentary. Speaking at the NTAs, she said: "We are going to make another documentary – there are plans for more."Derek has a very short window of energy, but we are trying. He has been home for four months now and it was enough for him being home." headtopics.com
Kate recently gave an update on her husband's condition, revealing he sometimes sleeps for up to 20 hours a day.She said: "But the fatigue Derek has - I know he's an extreme case because he's got multiple organ challenges - but even with some more milder cases, you know Derek can be sleeping 20 hours out of 24 hours a day.
"He has like 10 minute windows and it's not just feeling a bit tired, he goes white, pale, and it's like everything shuts down," she continued."So you don't want that kind of fatigue, even ruling out all the other things that people are suffering with with long Covid as well. The idea that you can prevent that and just have a bad week in bed is life changing isn't it."

Kate will also be presenting a new BBC health series Doctor, Can You See Me Now? with Dr Guddi Singh.The six-part series for BBC Two uses the "latest augmented reality know-how and medical imaging technology to allow patients to see inside their own bodies", in order to "better understand their medical condition and the treatment choices available to them".
Talking about the new show, Kate said: "I am thrilled to be part of this fascinating new series that uses the most incredibly advanced technology to help us get a better understanding of how our bodies function when they require urgent medical attention.
