Julia Sawalha has said she has been “plucked, stuffed and roasted” after being told that she would not be cast in the forthcoming sequel to the hit Aardman Animation film Chicken Run as her voice sounded “too old”.
This is bllcks. They probably want someone with more star power to do the role so made up a lame excuse for Julia.
Maybe chicken walk instead ?
I hope they change there mind. Julia is a well liked actor.

It's hard to accept growing old . Physical appearance declines and the last one to notice is yourself.
Shameful. When will we as a society stand up to blatant ageism like this and say enough is enough? I really urge to pursue this with AardmanAnimation and Netflix. Julia's voice hasn't changed at all since she first created Ginger; she is a consummate professional.

Curious to see the legal stance here. Aardman are based in the UK, presumably they are still the production co & it could be argued this is in breach of the Equality Act (for all intents, sounded too old = you are too old). They've been very blunt in their explanation.
