Family of Natsuko Okuyama ‘extremely happy’ after remains identified as those of 61-year-old woman who went missing 10 years ago

Skeletal remains found on a beach have been identified as those of woman who went missing 10 years ago in the 2011Dental and DNA analysis this week revealed the remains to be those of Natsuko Okuyama, a 61-year-old from Higashimatsushima in the north-eastern Miyagi prefecture who disappeared when the waves swept in on 11 March 2011, a police spokesman said.

How very sad. But it must be some small comfort to know she's at least been found.

This will finally give her family closure too, on what happened to her and that they can actually grieve for her! Tsunamis are always the worst, they kill so many and they take a long time, to find the people. I’m so grateful, after 10 year’s she can be buried and rest in peace.

Eternal rest, give unto her o Lord, may perpetual light shine upon, Natsuko Okayama’s soul, may she rest in peace, Amen!! 👏👏. Things like this upset me the most. That poor lady, drowned from a Tsunami and it took 10 years to find her body. I’m so glad she was found at last.
