ITV World Cup pundit Nadia Nadim has revealed she was forced off-air on Tuesday after learning the devastating news that her mother had been hit by a truck and tragically killed.
“Words cannot describe what I’m feeling. I have lost the most important person in my life and it happened so sudden and unexpected. She was only 57. Nadia added: “Her funeral is gone be soon... please come and show her the love, respect and prayers she deserves." Nadia was born in the north of Afghanistan. She fled the country with her family after her army general father was executed by the Taliban in 2000, and settled in a refugee camp in Denmark.
