The Chancellor told us all to go out for dinner and spend. Then the transaction figures came out showing that spending on “Super Saturday”, the day hospitality venues reopened, was still about 50 per cent down on last year. Number of positive Covid-19 tests remains stable in EnglandAn estimated 14,000 people had infection over past two weeks, according to ONS data A thousand infections a day is not something to celebrate or be proud of We can and should do much better Correct me if wrong but this says (bottom) 2.8m people might have had it (modelled estimate) which makes the risk of actually dying very low, thank goodness? And the over 50 esp 70s with comorbities still most at risk. Most of the population should be more relaxed than they are. Lol, I've seen the same headline yesterday about France! But stable doesn't mean good! In that case, it means 'cases are still high, and we can't achieve better'!
