On Thursday there were reports that Goodfellas actor Ray Liotta died in his sleep at 67.The legendary gangster actor passed away on the Caribbean island while he was recording Dangerous Waters.Picture: Alamy By Megan Hinton The star died on Thursday in the Dominican Republic, where he was filming the upcoming film Dangerous Waters.: Stars honor the Goodfellas actor after he passes away.

The actor was in the Dominican Republic at the time of his passing where he had been shooting the film Dangerous Waters.His rep confirmed the actor’s death to the Hollywood Reporter.Liotta was spotted out and about in Los Angeles in March where witnesses said that he was 'noticeably pale'.Ray, who was loved for his performance in Goodfellas in 1990, was born in New Jersey and adopted at six months old.Among his is most famous roles was Goodfellas, in 1990, where he portrayed former Lucchese crime family member Henry Hill.He honed his craft at the University of Miami where he studied acting and took to the world of musical theatre.Tributes flooded in for the beloved star, with fellow actors, celebrities and politicians all paying their respects.His first break came in 1986 when he starred in Something Wild which earned him his first Golden Globe nomination, for Best Supporting Actor - Motion Picture.

Four years later he played Henry Hill, a charismatic wiseguy, in Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas for which he was best known.Read more: Picture: Alamy In recent years Liotta appeared in The Many Saints Of Newark and starred alongside Taron Egerton in the Apple TV series Black Bird.The film went on to be nominated for six Oscars.The actor was father to daughter Karsen, and engaged to marry fiancée Jacy Nittolo.Ray shared news of the engagement to Instagram with caption: "Christmas wishes do come true."There was nothing suspicious about the death, and no foul play is suspected.I asked the love of my life to marry me, and thank God she said yes!!!" He previously married actress and producer Michelle Grace in February 1997, who he shares Karsen with, but the pair split in 2004.

Karsen, 23, is also an actor, co-starring alongside her father in Shades of Blue and in films like Hubie Halloween.Following the success of his early years and a break in between, Ray had once again been a regular on the big screen." Goodfellas actress Lorraine Bracco shared a photo of her and Liotta and said: "I am utterly shattered to hear this terrible news about my Ray.He was memorable for his performances in Noah Baumbach’s Oscar-nominated drama Marriage Story, and in the NBC series Shades of Blue, which he starred in alongside Jennifer Lopez.He finished the Elizabeth Banks-directed Cocaine Bear and was due to star in the Working Title film The Substance opposite Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley.He also gained popularity for the Sopranos prequel The Many Saints of Newark – for which he played two roles.My response has always been the same.

Aside from cinema, Ray starred with Taron Egerton in the Apple TV+ series Black Bird and Prime Video’s Hanna.He also won a Primetime Emmy in 2005 for his guest stint on ER for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.In 2004 Ray made his Broadway debut opposite Frank Langella in the Stephen Belber play, Match.Ray Liotta.He also turned his sights to going behind the camera and as well as acting in films such as Narc, Take the Lead and Snowmen, Ray served as producer on those films.The last few years were busy for Ray, who was prominent in the limelight, after taking some time off after his previous successes.
