'Broken. I've just lost a part of me' The mother of a young woman, who died from cancer after her chemotherapy was paused due to the Covid pandemic, says she doesn't think 'it was the right decision'

Covid: 'I lost my daughter to cancer after the pandemic paused chemotherapy'The mother of a 31-year-old woman who died from cancer after her chemotherapy was paused due to pandemic Covid measures has spoken publicly for the first time, saying she’s "broken" by her daughter’s death. Her mum, Mandy Russell, and dad started a petition calling for an end to cancer treatment delays, which had more than 370,000 signatures when they handed it to the government this summer.

Research by the Institute for Public Policy Research has now estimated it could take more than a decade to clear the cancer-treatment backlog in England. NHS England said: "While the pandemic inevitably had a knock-on effect on other services, the NHS continued to prioritise cancer care throughout the pandemic and referral and treatment numbers are now back to usual levels."

The saddest part is that the mask-wearing, 'get vaccinated' cretins would count her death as a covid death, and thus double down on measures that caused this in the first place. The vaccinated drool over the thought of innocents like this poor woman dying as it vindicates them.

This is so sad, doctors n nurses should be ashamed of themselves

So sorry for the loss of your beautiful daughter the covid pandemic took many lives and many more because treatment and medical care all but stopped because of it so wrong my sincere condolences to you and your family and friends

I’m so sorry for your loss. They tried to do the same thing with my niece. It’s despicable!Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family 🙏

Okay, sad story. But the comma after woman suggests it was the mother who died. This is just bad writing.

BBCWorld She died of the China virus, not cancer.

I would be bloody angry if it was my child!

I never understood pausing chemo. It was disgraceful and so many died due to it. Like spending millions on the nightingales that were never used. The one in Harrogate never even had toilets so could never have been used. Just a PR exercise.

In February 20 GPs were informed that if the NHS started to get overwhelmed an age cutoff for Covid treatment would be implemented. This wasn’t done, so they spent months keeping 80 yr old patients alive while younger cancer patients were denied treatment. One hell of a legacy.

So infuriating and incompetent!

NSW Covid update: unvaccinated NSW residents to wait until December to get freedomsStay-at-home orders will be lifted for the 70% of the adult population expected to be double-vaccinated against Covid by then, but regional travel will be on hold for longer good luck If the State can selectively dole out 'freedoms' and oppress them on a whim, the people have none. They're subjects. Could that be because the other states will need their vaccinations repaid and therefore there won’t be enough to push a higher vax rate in NSW?
